The Golden Second

What does the golden second refer to? Nadal says you have a golden second to put the right thought in after every point.
The mind does not care what we give it, it simply reacts. Every cell in your body starts to communicate with other cells based on your thoughts. (not sometimes all
the time) Team Rule #3 – 100% Positivity, is not simply there because we want great positive energy on the court or in the gym but also because the hard science tells us that it is how we can produce the best results. We need positive energy flowing through the athlete’s body 100% of the time. It requires work and discipline and yes we can stumble sometimes but we can make the corrections.
Also, it is proven that outside influences will affect a person and their makeup. So, how we as coaches, parents, and friends express ourselves to the athlete can dramatically affect them and how they play. The words that we use are actually energy /fuel (right or wrong) for the athlete’s supercharged engine. We only want to have the engine exposed to high octane. So before we speak to the athlete ( even jokingly) we must think hard about the words we use. The environment must be one of the “champions”.
See how the greatest martial artist explains it below.
